Scoring
Departure!
Recorded by the fabulous musicians with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra! This cue captures the energy and exhilaration of an intrepid crew setting off on a dangerous journey at the end of the first part of their story. Will they return? You’ll have to wait until Episode 2!
Project Chameleon
I grew up as an avid gamer, immersing myself in fantastic worlds, fighting epic battles against mythical beasts, and grinding for hours to max out my characters stats or get the best weapon in the game. I’ve spend days tending crops and adorable animals, and maintaining my quaint little town by relentlessly hunting down weeds and cockroaches or running endless fetch quests for neighbors. Game music was my constant companion—a great source of encouragement, entertainment, and sometimes frustration (Really?! another ambush?! I walked, like, two steps!)
Video game music is what made me want to be a composer. It still influences how I think about music and how I express my own musical ideas. Up until recently though, I hadn’t thought about analyzing it in the same way I would a concert score. What an oversight?! Project Chameleon is my attempt to study my favorite tracks as a visual arts might study their favorite painter, looking closely at form, instrumentation and style.
Bonus, it’s a fun opportunity to flex my digital art muscles!
